FROM CHAPTER TWO: "HOW ARE YOU SMART?":
(Note: this excerpt is taken from someone's personalized ebook. The content of your book would be personalized from your own responses to the FPYC questionnaire which you can begin at the top of this page.)
"...5. Naturalist intelligence Naturalist intelligence is what we draw on when making our way in the big wide world. There are two main aspects to this. Firstly, how we function in nature with plants and animals and secondly our level of 'smarts' in the commercial environment of human economic activity.
Just as our ancestors drew on the former to provide for their families, the emphasis these days is on the latter.
You seem to have a reasonable level of confidence in both areas. We look now at each of these in more depth.
5a. Natural world ability
Your natural world abilities appear to be at a reasonable level. Those who are strong in this area have a keen eye for the natural landscape and an affinity for animals or plants or both.
They are able to nurture the land and nature to maximize its productive potential.
A common element of those with strong natural world abilities is the capacity to identify and classify things from nature into different categories.
People who work in the natural environment like farmers, fishers, horticulturists, foresters and conservators all draw on their natural world abilities.
Work in the natural environment is one of the oldest fields known to humankind. It is also an area that is undergoing major changes and providing many opportunities. Is there any way for you to take advantage of these opportunities and your reasonable level of ability in this area?
Otherwise you may be best to concentrate your career around abilities where you have more natural talent. There will be still be many opportunities for you to use your natural world abilities in leisure activities like gardening, fishing or tramping to name a few.
5b. Commercial Ability
You don't seem to be particularly confident of your commercial abilities. Just as our ancestors identified opportunities in the natural world to improve their standard of living, we draw on the same basic abilities in the 21st Century to identify and take advantage of commercial opportunities. These commercial abilities consist of our trading abilities and our entrepreneurial abilities.
While you don't have confidence in your entrepreneurial abilities, you have reasonable confidence in your trading abilities. As someone with reasonable trading abilities, you are probably not uncomfortable buying and selling in a commercial environment.
Natural traders are those who instinctively know the value of things and are good at arranging and displaying goods for sale.
These abilities are often used in the wholesale and retail fields, and in any sales role. Trading abilities are very useful in many situations and any improvement you can make in this area would be well worthwhile.
Your lack of confidence in your entrepreneurial abilities is something you should look at addressing.
This is a time where innovation is greatly valued. The entrepreneur's ability to see opportunities can be a big advantage.
More than ever, the world is one big marketplace and those with the ability to create new and innovative products and services will be well rewarded.
Look to develop your entrepreneurial abilities and for opportunities to use them!"
